Day 2

Catfish

On day two we were scheduled to hang out, and do whatever.  That is pretty much what we did.  We attempted some fishing but we really didn't have much luck.  Brandon borrowed one of his dad's rods and continued his tradition of never really having a working rod.  This year his rod had steel line and Brandon decided to cast it.  Well it sure didn't take long for the steel line to become all mangled and useless.  Ted must have spent the better part of an hour sitting there trying to get it all back together.  Brandon claims he is going to get his own working rod this year.  Let's hope so!!!!!  Here Brandon is having one of his morning smoke breaks.

I guess this picture must have been taken before the infamous cast.

I didn't seem to have much luck either.  Actually, my records show that on day one I caught one small trout, Moe caught a sun fish and Brandon caught the branch above.

Rob stuck in the trees

Here I am, doing something I have since learned is a big NO-NO.  Washing the dishes in the lake.  Thanks again to all those from Algonquin Adventures for pointing this out and teaching me the correct way.

Later that night Moe decided to go for a little paddle in the canoe by himself.  What a laugh we all had.  As you can see from the pictures below he didn't make out to well.  As I mentioned earlier it was still really windy and it took just about everything he had in him to make it back to shore.

Later that night, while we were just sitting around, one of the guys jumped up and pointed across the lake.  There it was, the bull moose we had all never seen before while in Algonquin.  After some very brief hesitation we jumped in our Canoes and took off, hoping all the time the moose would remain.  He did, and we spent the next 20-30 minutes sitting there watching him.  We were even able to get some really cool pictures.

Eventually the wind finally died down and we were treated to a beautiful evening.  We saw a hawk soaring around as well.
